This project reimagines the visual identity of Don Q Rum while respecting the brand’s Puerto Rican heritage and real-world distribution constraints. A key factor in the redesign was the Jones Act, which requires goods shipped between U.S. ports to travel on U.S.-built and operated vessels. Because Don Q is produced in Puerto Rico and distributed to the mainland United States, this law directly affects how the brand moves its product.
